🚨Solidarity with Balochistan🚨

Stop the Genocide and Human Rights Violations!

On March 21st, Pakistani security forces violently attacked a peaceful sit-in protest in Quetta, killing at least three people, including a minor, and injuring many others. The protesters were demanding the release of forcibly disappeared persons but were met with batons, tear gas, and mass arrests. 

Among those detained is Dr. Mahrang Baloch, a prominent voice in the fight for justice against enforced disappearances and human rights violations committed by the Pakistani state against the Baloch people. 

Dr. Mahrang Baloch’s health is rapidly deteriorating due to inhumane treatment in prison. She is being denied basic medical care and subjected to unhygienic conditions, with poor-quality food already affecting her health. Surveillance cameras have been placed outside her cell, including near the washroom, violating her privacy. The prison is under the control of intelligence agencies, and her family has been denied regular visitation rights. These violations not only endanger her well-being but also highlight the ongoing mistreatment of political prisoners in Pakistan. Urgent intervention is needed to ensure her safety and immediate release.

Sammi Deen Baloch was also arrested in Karachi. After a second detention on false charges, she was released on April 1. Many others have been arrested or have been victims of enforced disappearance.

Protests continue around Baluchistán despite repression. People remain in the streets, refusing to be silenced. Instead of addressing their demands, the Pakistani state, backed by global powers, responds with more violence, more arrests, and more repression. This is not just an attack on the protesters but an attack on human rights and dignity. 

Another Genocide Silenced by the West: An Ongoing Crime Against the Baloch  

The attack in Quetta is not an isolated incident. It is part of a long history of systematic repression and state violence against the Baloch people. Since the forced annexation of Balochistan by Pakistan in 1948, the Pakistani state has pursued a policy of occupation, militarization, and extermination against the Baloch population. Thousands of cases of enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, and forced displacements have been documented.  

The Baloch genocide manifests in a counterinsurgency strategy that includes indiscriminate bombings, economic blockades, and a systematic denial of fundamental rights. The extractivism of natural resources by the Pakistani state and foreign actors has left the population in extreme poverty and marginalization. Internal colonialism and structural violence have turned Balochistan into one of the most militarized and oppressed regions in the world.  

Our Solidarity with Balochistan  

We stand in full solidarity with the Baloch Yakjehti Committee and all those fighting for justice in Balochistan. We demand the pakistani state:  

🔴 The immediate release of Dr. Mahrang Baloch, Beebow Baloch and Bebarg Baloch and all detained protesters.  

🔴 An end to enforced disappearances and state violence.  

🔴 Demilitarisation of Balochistán

🔴 Respect on the right of self-determination of baloch people

¡Alto al Genocidio y las Violaciones a Derechos Humanos!

El pasado 21 de marzo, las fuerzas de seguridad pakistaníes atacaron violentamente una sentada pacífica en Quetta, causando la muerte de al menos tres personas, entre ellas un menor, y heridas a muchas otras. Los manifestantes exigían la liberación de las personas desaparecidas, pero fueron respondidos con porras, gases lacrimógenos y arrestos masivos. 

Entre los detenidos se encuentra la Dra. Mahrang Baloch, una voz destacada en la lucha por la justicia contra las desapariciones forzadas y violaciones a Derechos Humanos del Estado Pakistaní contra el pueblo baloch. 

La salud de la Dra. Mahrang Baloch se está deteriorando rápidamente debido al trato inhumano en prisión. Se le está negando atención médica básica y está siendo sometida a condiciones insalubres, con alimentos de baja calidad que ya han afectado su salud. Se han colocado cámaras de vigilancia fuera de su celda, incluso cerca del baño, violando su privacidad. La prisión está bajo el control de las agencias de inteligencia, y a su familia se le han negado visitas regulares. Estas violaciones no solo ponen en peligro su bienestar, sino que también evidencian el continuo maltrato a los presos políticos en Pakistán. Es urgente una intervención para garantizar su seguridad y su liberación inmediata.

También Sammi Deen Baloch fue arrestada en Karachi. Después de una segunda detención bajo cargos falsos, fue liberada el 1 de abril. Muchos otros han sido arrestados o han sido víctimas de desaparición forzada. 

Las protestas continúan en Balochistán, a pesar de la represión. La gente sigue en las calles, negándose a ser silenciada. En lugar de atender sus demandas, el Estado pakistaní, respaldado por potencias globales, responde con más violencia, más arrestos y más represión. Esto no es solo un ataque contra los manifestantes, sino un ataque a los derechos y la dignidad humana. 

Otro genocidio silenciado por Occidente: un crimen en curso contra los baloch

El ataque en Quetta no es un hecho aislado. Forma parte de una larga historia de represión sistemática y violencia estatal contra el pueblo baloch. Desde la anexión forzada de Baluchistán a Pakistán en 1948, el Estado pakistaní ha llevado a cabo una política de ocupación, militarización y exterminio contra la población baloch. Se han documentado miles de casos de desapariciones forzadas, ejecuciones extrajudiciales y desplazamientos forzados.

El genocidio baloch se manifiesta en una estrategia de contrainsurgencia que incluye bombardeos indiscriminados, bloqueos económicos y una negación sistemática de derechos fundamentales. El extractivismo de recursos naturales por parte del Estado pakistaní y actores extranjeros ha dejado a la población en una situación de extrema pobreza y marginación. El colonialismo interno y la violencia estructural han convertido a Baluchistán en una de las regiones más militarizadas y oprimidas del mundo.

Nuestra solidaridad con Baluchistán

Nos solidarizamos plenamente con el Comité Baloch Yakjehti y con todos los que luchan por la justicia en Baluchistán. Exigimos al Estado pakistaní:

🔴 La liberación inmediata de la Dra. Mahrang Baloch, Beebow Baloch y Bebarg Baloch y de todos los manifestantes detenidos.

🔴 El fin de las desapariciones forzadas y la violencia estatal.

🔴 Desmilitarización de Balochistán

🔴 Respeto al derecho a la autodeterminación del pueblo baloch
